🕉 Temple Seva — Privacy Policy

📋 1. Introduction

Temple Seva ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Temple Seva mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App immediately.

The following table describes every category of personal data we collect:

• To manage your temple membership and generate your digital ID card.
• To track your attendance at religious events and credit devotion points.
• To send you push notifications about upcoming events and point transactions via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
• To allow administrators to verify member identities using QR-code scanning.
• To display emergency health information (blood group) on your member ID card.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

🔗 4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share only your device FCM token with Google/Firebase for the sole purpose of delivering push notifications. No personally identifiable information (name, Aadhaar, phone, etc.) is shared with Firebase or any other third party.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone for any reason.

🔒 5. Data Security

• In transit: All communications between the App and our server use HTTPS (TLS 1.2/1.3). No plain-HTTP connections are permitted.
• On device: Your authentication token is stored in Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences, backed by AES-256-GCM encryption via the Android Keystore.
• Authentication tokens are excluded from Google Drive Auto Backup and device-to-device transfers.
• On server: Your data is stored in a secured database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.
• Media files (photos) are served only to authenticated JWT holders — no public URLs are exposed.

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We strive to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

🗓️ 6. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for administrative, legal, or operational purposes.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time — either from within the App (Profile → Request Account Deletion) or by emailing us at admin@templeseva.ind.in.

Upon receiving a deletion request, your account will be deactivated immediately and all personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

👶 7. Children's Privacy

The Temple Seva App is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

⚖️ 8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data (contact your temple administrator).
• Delete your account and all associated data (see Section 6 above).
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
• Data portability — request an export of your data in a structured format.

📝 9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and where appropriate, via an in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
